FireLite is a clear, wireless, fire-rated ceramic glazing material designed to resist high temperatures due to fire exposure. It combines the transparency of glass with fire-resistant ceramic properties to provide exceptional protection in extreme temperatures. From door windows to sidelites, FireLite Glass delivers reliable protection from fire exposure.
FireLite Ceramic Glass Features
FireLite Glass is available with a 3/16" (5mm) thickness. FireLite Ceramic Glass products are UL Classified for 20, 45, 60, and 90-minute fire ratings for walls and up to 180-minute fire ratings for doors. Both applications are fully tested to meet Hose Stream and Positive Pressure Test requirements (UL 10C). FireLite ceramic glass can be used in walls and partitions with a maximum exposed viewing area of 3,325 square inches (95" max width/height) for 60-minute ratings and 2,627 square inches (56-1/2" max width/height) for 90-minute ratings. Features of FireLite ceramic glass include:
- Fire-rated up to 90 minutes with required Hose Stream Test
- Passes the Positive Pressure Test standards of UL 10C, UBC 7-2 and UBC 7-4
- Withstands sudden thermal shock
- Provides a clear view and is completely wireless
- Available in both FireLite Standard and FireLite Premium for superior optical polished finish
Custom Options for FireLite Glass
FireLite Glass is available in a range of sizing and surface finishing options, ensuring you get the best fire-rated glass for your application's requirements. Custom options include:
- Larger pane sizes available (Please see FireLite approved Listing sizes and limits)
- Available in 2 optical surface grades: FireLite Standard and FireLite Premium
- Available as Impact Resistant FireLite-NT or FireLite-Plus meeting IBC 2406 Safety Glazing requirements
- Can be lightly sandblasted/etched for a "frosted" look or for graphics or logos on 1 side
- Also available in fire rated insulated glass units as FireLite-IGU (Contact Ray-Bar for details)

FireLite Premium Glass products are ground and polished to achieve a superior, optically unmatched level of clarity without compromising fire protection performance. It is ideal for applications demanding the highest standards of clarity while still providing the same fire resistance, safety, and versatility as the Standard version.
Certifications, Listings and Approvals
- This FireLite product is classified and labeled by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. USA in America and also Underwriters Laboratories of Canada.
- Ray-Bar's unique UL file number for labeled fire-rated glass and glazing assemblies is R38927.
- UL (Underwriters Laboratories) Fire Tests performed in accordance with UL 9, UL 10B, CSFM 43.7, NFPA 80, NFPA 252, NFPA 257, UBC 43.4, UBC 7-2, UBC 7-4, CAN4 S-104 and CAN4 S-106.
- Approved for use in Los Angeles, CA: LARR 25798.
- Also approved for use in New York City, NY: MEA 290-90-M-6.
FireLite Impact Rating Information
This FireLite product is NOT for impact safety-rated locations or doors.
If your project requires impact resistance, Ray-Bar offers clear, safety-filmed FireLite-NT or clear laminated FireLite-Plus. These products are labeled as meeting the impact resistance safety test standards requirements of ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16CFR1201 (Cat I and Cat II) in compliance with IBC safety glazing building code requirements.
Impact-resistant locations include any windows in a wall within 24" of a door opening or within 18" of the floor, borrowed lites, sidelites, transoms, glazing in a swinging or sliding door, or other high-risk human impact areas.
Important Notice:
